Darius de Haas is a celebrated Broadway and theater performer whose multifaceted careers pans original Broadway productions such as Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Rent, The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm, Marie Christine, Lincoln Center’s revival of Carousel, and Shuffle Along, as well as anniversary concerts of Dreamgirls and Hair for The Actors Fund. An OBIE Award winner for his title role in the premiere of Running Man, Darius has also starred in notable premieres including Cry the Beloved Country, Jesus Christ Superstar GOSPEL, I Was Looking At The Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds her Chameleon Skin, and Billy Strayhorn: Something To Live For. Hailed by The New York Times for his ‘astonishingvocal acrobatics’ and by Variety for his emotional intensity, Darius’ artistry is deeply rooted in a rich musical legacy and extends to his work as a founding member of Black Theatre United, advocating for Black excellence and equity in the arts. His voice is also featured in the original cast recordings and on television as the singing voice of Shy Baldwin in Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, further cementing his impact on the world of theater and beyond.
