Beth Leavel is a stage and screen actress and singer. She is best known for her performances in the Broadway musicals “The Drowsy Chaperone”, “Baby It’s You!”, and “The Prom”, receiving Tony Award nominations for all three and winning for “The Drowsy Chaperone”. She received the 2025 Sarah Siddons Society Award for outstanding artistic achievement in theatre and performed in her 15th Broadway show, “Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends,” this past season.

For her performance as the title character in “The Drowsy Chaperone”, she received Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and LA Drama Critics Awards. She also received Tony, New York Outer Critics Circle, and other nominations for her roles in “The Prom” and “Baby, It’s You”. 

On Broadway, Beth originated roles in “Lempicka”, Bandstand, “Elf’, “The Civil War”, and Crazy For You”. Other Broadway credits include “Mamma Mia!”, “Young Frankenstein”, the revival of “42nd Street”, Hal Prince’s “Show Boat”, and “42nd Street’. 

Other New York credits include the New York City Center Encores! production of “No, No, Nanette”, and the off-Broadway productions of “Lone Star Love” andStanding on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays”.                          

Beth has dazzled and delighted sold-out audiences with her cabaret act, which she has taken from 54 Below in New York City to other venues across the United States and now at Broadway Cabaret at The Rittenhouse Grill. You might also recognize Beth from numerous commercials and TV shows, including “Ghosts of Christmas Always”, “The Bite”, “Walking Dead: World Beyond”, and the final episode of ER”.
